A woman was seriously injured in a townhouse fire today in the southeast valley, according to the Henderson Fire Department.
The fire started about 2:30 a.m. in the bedroom of the two-story townhouse in the 300 block of Gayle Avenue, near Lake Mead Parkway and Boulder Highway, fire officials said.
Firefighters found the woman lying on the floor and transported her to St. Rose Dominican Hospital in serious condition, fire officials said.
Crews contained the fire and put it out before it spread to adjoining townhouses, officials said.
Two people were displaced by the fire, which caused an estimated $21,800 in damages according to officials.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
