A pedestrian with a walker who investigators say ran across a northwest valley road trying to beat traffic was struck and killed by a car early Friday, according to Metro Police.
The 69-year-old Las Vegas woman died at University Medical Center, police said.
Medics and officers were dispatched about 12:15 a.m. to Durango Drive, south of Hitt Center Court near Deer Springs Way, police said.
An investigation determined that the woman was running with a walker from east to west when she was struck by a 2004 Ford Mustang that was heading south on Durango on a middle lane, police said.
This was the 78th traffic fatality investigated by Metro, police said.
