A pedestrian was struck and killed by a box truck this afternoon in the area of Main Street and Owens Avenue, according to Metro Police.
The 57-year-old Las Vegas man was waiting to cross the road, but appeared to "faint or passed out" about the same time the vehicle drove by soon after a red light turned green, police said. The man was hit by the back tires.
Officers were called to the scene shortly before 3 p.m., police said. The man died at the scene while the driver, who was not impaired, was cooperating with investigators.
