A person trying to extinguish a shed fire with a water hose this afternoon suffered critical burns to the lower body, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.
Crews were dispatched about 2:45 p.m. to a backyard on Crestline Drive, near Alta and Torrey Pines drives, officials said.
The burn victim was rushed to University Medical Center with critical burns, officials said.
Damage was estimated at about $5,000, officials said.
