Two people were critically injured in a crash this morning in the west valley, according to Metro Police.
The accident happened about 3 a.m. at the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Durango Drive, police said.
A Pontiac G6 traveling east on Sahara Avenue hit the drivers side of a Chevy Suburban, sending both vehicles south of the intersection on Durango Drive, police said.
The 25-year-old woman driving the Pontiac and a 30-year-old female passenger were both taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, police said. The 35-year-old man driving the Chevy only received minor injuries according to police.
Northbound lanes on Durango Drive were completely closed for hours while police conducted the investigation.
