Dispute in North Las Vegas park leads to fatal shooting

A dispute Thursday in the parking lot of a North Las Vegas park escalated to gunfire that left a man dead and another sought by authorities, according to city police.

Officers and medics responded about 5 p.m. to a lot at Craig Ranch Regional Park, 628 W. Craig Road, near Martin Luther King Boulevard, police said.

Police said a disagreement between the men preceded the shooting.

The slain man, 26, died at University Medical Center, police said.

Investigators today were attempting to determine if the men involved knew each other, and what prompted the shooting, police said.
