Pedestrian hit by SUV, killed crossing north valley road

An SUV hit and fatally injured a pedestrian Thursday evening on a north valley road, according to Metro Police.

The male pedestrian was crossing West Ann Road, near Twilight Chase Street, outside of any designated crosswalk about 6 p.m. when he was hit by a 2017 Acura MDX, which was headed east, police said.

The man, whose name has not yet been released, was transported to Centennial Hills Hospital, where he died, police said.

The motorist, a 46-year-old Las Vegas man, remained at the scene and was not impaired, police said.

The incident resulted in the 134th fatality investigated by Metro this year.

About an hour after the crash, at the opposite side of the valley, Henderson Police responded to a crash that killed an elderly pedestrian in the Green Valley area, authorities said. The woman also was crossing outside a designated area, police said.
