Police: Man found dead in east valley was victim of stabbing

A person walking his dog in the east valley this morning came upon the body of a man who was stabbed to death overnight, according to Metro Police.

Officers responded about 6:45 a.m. to the area of Flamingo Road and Pinecrest Street, near Sandhill Road, Lt. Ray Spencer said.

Detectives found the man, who might have been homeless, dead in the street, police said.

The man, who was in his 40s, was killed at the scene, a neighborhood of homes and businesses, Spencer said.

No suspect or motive has been identified, Spencer said. Investigators were canvassing the area for surveillance footage or witnesses who might have seen or heard something, he said.
