Hit-and-run driver kills motorcyclist stopped at red light in NLV

A motorcyclist sitting at a red light on a North Las Vegas roadway this morning was fatally injured when an SUV hit him from behind, according to city police. 

The driver of the dark-colored Acura vehicle fled the scene and remains on the run, police said.

Officers responded to the crash on Craig Road and Lamb Boulevard about 4:10 a.m. and encountered a gravely injured motorcyclist, police said. The 53-year-old man died at University Medical Center. 

He had stopped at a red light on Craig Road and was facing east when the SUV smashed into him, police said.

This was the 20th road fatality investigated by North Las Vegas Police this year.
