Golden Knights development camp will be open to public

Golden Knights First Practice

L.E. Baskow

Players cruise about the ice during a drill as the Golden Knights hold their first on ice practice during their inaugural Development Camp at the Las Vegas Ice Center on Tuesday, June 27, 2017.

The Vegas Golden Knights will hold their second development camp June 26-30 at City National Arena, the team announced today.

Both sheets of ice at the practice facility will be used as the franchise welcomes players picked in the past two drafts. The practices are free and open to the public.

The week will start with a community service event June 25. The details will be released later, the team said.

That will be followed by five days of practice, highlighted by scrimmages on the last three days.

Players that are expected to participate include last year’s first-round selections Cody Glass, Nick Suzuki and Erik Brannstrom, as well as second-round selection — and Canadian Hockey League defenseman of the year — Nic Hague.

Reid Duke, who was the first player in franchise history, and other members of the Golden Knights’ American Hockey League and ECHL affiliates are expected to compete as well.
