Arizona troopers seized more than two pounds of fentanyl powder in Pima County last week, during a traffic stop along Interstate 10, officials said.

Las Vegas resident Jovanie R. Perez, 34, was arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail in connection with charges of possession of a narcotic drug, possession of a narcotic drug for sale, and transportation of a narcotic drug for sale, according to a news release from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

DPS detectives with the Border Strike Force also seized another 700 fentanyl pills in Scottsdale, the release said.
