CARSON CITY — A Nevada inmate who was sentenced to life in prison for a 1992 murder in Clark County has died.
State corrections officials said Tuesday that 61-year-old Bruce E. Wilkie died on Friday at Carson Tahoe Hospital in Carson City.
He'd been incarcerated at the state prison in Carson City since he was sentenced to life in prison for first-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon in December 1992.
Nevada Department of Corrections spokeswoman Brooke Santina says the Carson City sheriff's coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause of death.
She says an exhaustive search of prison records has failed to locate any next of kin. Anyone with information about his family is asked to call corrections officials at 775-887-3309.
