Bus passenger facing felony bomb threat charge in Las Vegas

A 63-year-old bus passenger is jailed on a felony bomb threat charge in Las Vegas after police checked a package he was carrying when he got off a transit bus and determined it was not an explosive device.

Officer Laura Meltzer said Tuesday that Christopher Williams Robinson was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Monday and authorities cordoned off an area near a busy crossroads east of the Las Vegas Strip for more than two hours to check the item he was carrying.

Robinson was jailed on $10,000 bail pending an initial court appearance at which he is expected to have a lawyer appointed to represent him on a communicating a bomb threat charge.

Robinson could face up to six years in state prison if he is convicted.
