The 18 months of terror a man allegedly inflicted on the mother of his child and her family began when he sent a threatening photo to the woman of him holding a gun, according to the FBI.

Then this summer, Daman Eugene Holmes, 36, filmed himself attacking the woman’s pit bull, which he’d stolen, with closed-fist blows, according to an arrest warrant.

Holmes was taken into custody Friday and booked on one count each of aggravated stalking and animal abuse, the FBI said. He was being held without bond at the Clark County Detention Center.

Holmes and the woman had broken up and had a contentious relationship as the result of a custody dispute, the FBI said.

The woman kept a log of threatening messages she received, according to the FBI. She got the one with the gun in late December 2016, and the harassment continued through June, when she received the animal-abuse videos, the FBI said.

The threats ranged from saying he’d misuse the woman’s Social Security number to telling her he would rape and kill her and members of her family, the FBI alleged.

When the victim blocked Holmes in her communication devices, the messages were sent to her family, the FBI said. The harassment was reported to the federal agency in June.

Authorities recovered two videos showing Holmes beating the gray and white pit bull, the FBI said. When agents showed up to his front door, the dog ran outside, the FBI said.

Holmes is scheduled to appear before a judge Oct. 15, jail logs show.
