The longest running show on the Las Vegas Strip will have a new home in February. “Legends in Concert,” the celebrity musical tribute that made its Vegas debut in 1983 and currently features impersonations of George Michael, Bruno Mars, Donna Summer and Elvis Presley at the Flamingo, will begin production at the Tropicana in early 2019 at the newly renamed Legends in Concert Theater.

"This one-of-a-kind show has entertained more than 35 million fans around the globe and its remarkable history on the Strip makes for the perfect partnership where two legends in Las Vegas come together,” said Aaron Rosenthal, vice president and general manager at the Trop. “The addition of 'Legends in Concert' to our entertainment lineup demonstrates Penn National Gaming’s ongoing commitment to make the experience at Tropicana better than ever.”

“Legends” started as a limited engagement at the Imperial Palace (now The Linq) and became known as the blueprint for many other live tribute shows. With a constantly rotating cast of music and celebrity tribute artists, it moved to the Donny and Marie Showroom at the Flamingo more than four years ago.

Its next home, currently known as the Tropicana Theater and hosting another long-popular tribute show “Purple Reign,” seats approximately 1,100. “Legends” will headline the room at 7 p.m. starting the second week of February.

“We are thrilled to unveil our all-new production at our new legendary home, building on the show’s three and a half decades of success, while also beginning a powerful multi-year agreement between two Vegas icons,” said Brian Brigner, chief operating officer of On Stage Enterprises, producer of “Legends.”

The production, which recently won the Casino Production Show of the Year award at the annual Casino Entertainment Awards at the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas and operates multiple versions across the country, will continue its scheduled shows at the Flamingo through the end of the year.
