Several pedestrians robbed at gunpoint; suspects sought

The belongings of random victims were taken at gunpoint Tuesday morning during a series of robberies at multiple valley locations, according to Metro Police.

Investigators connected the same two suspects and an older-model black Nissan sedan with tinted windows and no license plates — which were captured on surveillance images released — to three robberies, at least two in which a gun was used.

Officers first responded about 6:40 a.m. to a neighborhood in the 3900 block of Alameda Avenue, near Pecos and Bonanza roads.

There, two teenagers were walking and recalled hearing a voice behind them only to turn around to see a gun pointed at them, police said. The suspect took belongings from their pockets and got in the passenger’s side of the car, which fled.

About 15 minutes later, officers were dispatched to Pecos and Owens Avenue, about 1 1/2 miles north of the first call, police said.

A victim was walking down a sidewalk when the same sedan cut in front of him, police said. A gunman got out, pointed the weapon and demanded and took property from him.

Shortly before 10 a.m., a third robbery was reported near Braken Avenue and 17th Street, police said. The description of at least one of the suspects and the car used was the same.

The suspects were described by police as two thin black males between ages 17 and 19. One wore a dark jacket, red shirt and black pants. The other wore a dark blue shirt and red pants.
