A suspect sought in connection to a series of armed robberies of random pedestrians Monday morning is in custody, according to Metro Police.

Officers this afternoon handcuffed Anthony Carter in the east valley where he was driving the car authorities also were looking for, police said. In it, they found some of the stolen items taken in three robberies.

A second suspect hasn’t been identified or arrested. Carter, 19, was arrested in the 4800 block of Sahara Avenue, west of Nellis Boulevard, police said. Further details on the arrest were not provided.

Carter is being held on a $175,000 bond at the Clark County Detention Center on three counts each of robbery with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit a robbery, jail logs show.

Two teens walking in a neighborhood near Pecos and Bonanza roads at about 6:40 a.m. Monday were robbed at gunpoint, police said.

About 15 minutes later, officers were dispatched about 1 ½ miles north of the first call where a second victim was robbed in similar fashion police said.

A third robbery was reported about 10 a.m. near Braken Avenue and 17th Street, police said. The description of at least one suspect and the Nissan sedan matched that of the previous two incidents.
