Police: Man dead in Northeast Las Vegas shooting

An altercation in a northeast Las Vegas neighborhood late Friday escalated to a shooting that left one dead, according to Metro Police.

Officers were dispatched about 11:30 p.m. to the intersection of Pecos Road and Haddock Avenue, near Carey Avenue, and found the victim on the road with multiple gunshot wounds, Lt. Ray Spencer said.

Spencer said the male victim died at a trauma hospital.

Two male subjects were reportedly seen fleeing in a vehicle after the shooting, Spencer said.

This was the first of three shootings investigated by Metro homicide detectives in a nine-hour period, one which was fatal and another that left a victim in “extremely” critical condition, Spencer said.
