Noah Hawthorne had two touchdowns tonight for the Green Valley High football team in a 14-8 win against visiting Chaparral.

Hawthorne scored on a 5-yard pass from Garrett Castro and on a 12-yard run, helping the Gators to a 14-0 halftime lead in their Southeast League opener.

Green Valley (5-1 overall) didn’t score in the second half.

“Chap has some athletic dudes,” Green Valley coach Brian Castro said. “They played really well.”
