The Legacy High football team’s season has mostly been defined by injuries to key players. One by one, those players are returning.

And so are the Longhorns’ winning ways.

Aaron Holloway had an 88-yard punt return for a touchdown tonight for Legacy in helping it beat host Las Vegas 27-9 in the Northeast League opener for both schools.

Quarterback Evan Olaes, one of the players back in the lineup, had a long touchdown pass to Holloway and also rushed for a touchdown. He completed 6 of 9 passes for 123 yards.

Jerry Martin added a touchdown run for the Longhorns, who snapped a four-game losing streak. It couldn’t have come at a better time — the start of league play.

“We are still eyeing a high playoff seed,” Legacy coach John Isola said. “It’s all about doing well in league.”

Legacy started nine sophomores and one freshman tonight. The freshman, Jason Burns, had an interception.

“We still made some young mistakes,” Isola said
