A 56-year-old former physical education teacher is accused of leaving voicemail threats of violence against administrators at a Catholic school in Las Vegas where he worked until 2017.

A judge on Tuesday set bail for Todd Duane Pomeroy at $25,000 pending a May 7 hearing following his arrest Monday on three felony threat charges.

Pomeroy's appointed attorney did not immediately respond to messages.

Classes resumed at St. Viator Catholic School for about 500 students in grades pre-kindergarten to eight.

The school was closed Monday and Pomeroy was arrested at home in telephone threats the Diocese of Las Vegas says were directed at school officials.

Pomeroy pleaded no contest in 2018 to misdemeanor battery from 2017 in a case that was dismissed after he completed counseling and community service.
