A woman Metro Police say ran over and killed the owner of a nail salon as she drove off without paying for a manicure is wanted on counts of murder, robbery with a deadly weapon and burglary, according to Las Vegas Justice Court logs.

An arrest warrant for Krystal Whipple, 21, which authorities filed today, remained active this afternoon, logs show.

Police on Thursday identified Whipple as the suspect in the incident that led to the death of Ngoc Q. Nguyen, 51, Saturday afternoon outside her salon at Flamingo Road and Decatur Boulevard.

After receiving a nail treatment, Whipple tried paying with a fraudulent credit card that failed to go through, police said. The customer then told Nguyen that she was going to her car to get some cash, police said.

When Nguyen and her boyfriend realized Whipple was trying to drive away, they ran outside to confront her, police said. Police released surveillance video showing Nguyen step in front of the car, which took off and ran over her.

Nguyen, who died at University Medical Center, was dragged under the car about 50 feet, police said.

The stolen rental car was later found abandoned at a nearby apartment complex, police said.
