Reno man arrested in I-80 road-rage incident in Sparks

SPARKS — A 24-year-old Reno man has been arrested on multiple weapons and traffic charges following a road-range incident on Interstate 80 in Sparks.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says Daniel Swirsky was driving a 1993 Ford Tempo Friday morning when he pointed a gun in the air and struck the side of another pickup while passing illegally on the shoulder of an I-80 ramp at Vista Boulevard.

The patrol says Swirsky fled the scene but subsequently was apprehended.

He's been booked into the Washoe County jail on suspicion of seven charges including ex-felon in possession of a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.

Troopers say they found a loaded Ruger handgun and brass knuckles with a folding 6-inch knife blade in his car.

It's not clear Swirsky has a lawyer or will be appointed one.
