RENO — A series of earthquakes were reported near Reno on Thursday night.
The Reno Gazette Journal reports the strongest of the eight quakes was a 3.7 magnitude earthquake that capped the hour-long series.
The Nevada Seismological Laboratory reports that earthquake occurred 5 miles (8 kilometers) southwest of Virginia City.
The other earthquakes in the area ranged from about 1 magnitude to 2.4.
