Cubs infielder Kris Bryant (17) stretches prior to the Chicago Cubs vs Cleveland Indians game at Cashman Field, Saturday, Mar. 17, 2018. Chicago went on to defeat Cleveland 11-4.

Big League Weekend will be bigger and better in 2020 at Las Vegas Ballpark.

After taking a break in 2019 while construction on the new stadium in Summerlin was completed, the popular event returns with an exciting twist — it will feature four teams (not two) and will be contested over two weekends (not one).

The Oakland A's, the Las Vegas Aviators big league affiliate, will take on the Cleveland Indians Feb. 29 and March 1 in the first leg of Big League Weekend. The following weekend, the Cubs and Reds will square off for two games. Times will be announced later.

The event, which typically brought standing room-only crowds to Cashman Field in downtown, is expected to sell out on all four days in Summerlin, where the Aviators in their inaugural season had the best attendance in minor league baseball.

"The fans, both locally and the tourists that visit during this event, will have a memorable time," Aviators President/COO Don Logan said in a statement. "The Cubs continue to have such a tremendous nationwide fan-base, and Las Vegas has become a 'second' spring training home for them."

The Cubs are led by Las Vegan Kris Bryant, one of the game's best hitters, and first-year major leaguer Cody Ross, who formerly played for the Triple-A Las Vegas affiliate. And Cleveland bench coach Sandy Alomar Jr. is one of the best players in Las Vegas history.

Big League Weekend ticket packages are available by calling the Aviators office at (702) 939-7200.
