Jose Carrasco had success on both offense and defense Thursday for the Cimarron-Memorial football team in a 34-20 victory against Bonanza.

The senior tight end caught a pair of touchdown passes on offense. Defensively, he had an interception return for a score, helping the Spartans break a four-game losing streak.

“We really did a better job at rediscovering ourselves as a football program and football team,” Cimarron coach Shane Kanie said. “Obviously we have a lot of things to work out, but this is definitely a step in the right direction for us.”

Quarterback Brandon Smith completed 18 of 29 passes for 215 yards, senior Jayden Morefield had two interceptions, and Jordan Norwood carried the ball 22 times for 161 yards and a score.
