A 10-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries this morning when he was hit by a car in a crosswalk at Jones Boulevard and Arby Road, according to Metro Police.
The boy was hit about 7:15 a.m. as he was running across the street, police said. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he was in critical condition this afternoon, police said.
No one else was injured, and the driver was not suspected of being impaired, police said. The crash remained under investigation.
