Three additional inmates at the Clark County Detention Center have tested positive for the coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections to at least four among the inmate population, Metro Police announced Wednesday.

To date, 32 inmates have been tested for COVID-19 with four positive results; three are pending. One case, which was disclosed Monday, was that of an inmate who was recovering at University Medical Center.

The other three, disclosed Wednesday, are of two inmates who were isolated in negative air pressure rooms at the jail, and an inmate who was released Tuesday after completing a sentence, police said.

Out of the two inmates still at the jail, one was being released to a family member and was to be monitored by the Southern Nevada Health District, police said.

Metro said it has “tracked and monitored” 424 inmates for COVID-19 since March 12. The three people who have test results pending are out of jail and their cases were being monitored by the health district, police said.
