Wynn Resorts employees in Las Vegas will have access to free coronavirus testing through a partnership with University Medical Center.

Workers at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore will have access to testing at designated UMC locations beginning the week of May 4, the company said today.

“The sense of shared responsibility among partners such as University Medical Center and the Southern Nevada Health District to create a safe environment for our community, and in turn the tourists who will return to Las Vegas, has been absolutely remarkable,” Wynn CEO Matt Maddox said in a statement.

UMC has the ability to perform thousands of tests a day, officials said.

“We are extremely proud to be able to share UMC’s laboratory and testing capabilities with our neighbors at Wynn Resorts,” hospital CEO Mason VanHouweling said in a statement.

“A vibrant tourism destination relies on our expert health care system to care for all who live in and visit Las Vegas, and we look forward to working alongside Wynn Resorts to bring us all back together again,” VanHouweling said.

Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak in mid-March ordered casinos and other nonessential businesses statewide closed for 30 days, later extending the shutdown through the end of this month. He is expected on Thursday to discuss possible plans to reopen some businesses.

Earlier this month, Wynn announced that all of its salaried, hourly and part-time employees would continue to receive pay through May 15.
