Two additional suspects accused in an early Thanksgiving Day shooting spree across the valley and into Arizona were formally charged Tuesday in Henderson with attempted murder, court logs show.

Arrest warrants were issued out of Henderson Justice Court for Shawn McDonnell, 32, and Kayleigh Lewis, 25, a Texas couple who married here about three weeks before the random crime spree unfolded, according to Clark County records.

They’re facing two counts each of attempted murder and three counts each of discharging a gun into a structure, logs show.

The third suspect, Christopher McDonnell, 28, has been in Henderson Police custody and appeared in court last week after prosecutors filed a murder case against him. He's a felon out of Texas who was out on parole at the time of the shooting incidents.

He’s accused of randomly gunning down 22-year-old Kevin Mendiola at a Henderson 7-Eleven, as well as injuring three other victims, including Mendiola’s girlfriend and younger brother.

Those victims are expected to be OK.

Police allege the trio shot at moving cars before the slaying, missing victims in three incidents, and afterward, wounding a woman in the arm.

Their black Toyota Camry proceeded into neighboring Arizona, where they continued to shoot at people, according to authorities there. They were finally stopped by Arizona Department of Public Safety highway troopers in rural La Paz County, about 200 miles from Las Vegas.

Shawn McDonnell was shot by the troopers when he allegedly pointed a gun at them after the Camry crashed and rolled over, authorities said. He was hospitalized, while his wife was initially booked into the La Paz County jail on a $500,000 bond.

Christopher McDonnell, who also was treated for minor injuries, was eventually brought to Henderson.

Authorities haven’t publicly disclosed if they’ve determined a motive for the shootings, only noting the victims were completely random.

It also wasn’t clear why the trio from Tyler, Texas, were in Southern Nevada.

While Kayleigh Lewis and Shawn McDonnell acquired a marriage license in Clark County on Nov. 7, she received a speeding citation in her hometown four days later, court records show.

Christopher McDonnell will next appear in Henderson court next Tuesday.
