Police: Store employee in NLV arrested for shooting at transient man

An employee of a North Las Vegas business is accused of trying to kill a transient man during a fight that turned into a shooting Wednesday morning, city police said today. 

Anthony Wright, 27, was being held at the city of Las Vegas jail on counts of attempted murder, possession of a gun by a prohibited person, and attempting to destroy or conceal evidence, jail logs show.

Gunfire erupted about 6 a.m. at the business located in the 800 block of East Lake Mead Boulevard, near Las Vegas Boulevard North, police said.

According to an account provided by police, a fight broke out between Wright and the victim. At one point, police allege Wright opened fire, striking the victim once.

The victim was expected to recover at University Medical Center, police said.
