A 70-year-old pedestrian who was using a walker was fatally injured Friday evening when she was struck by a cargo van on Flamingo Road and Swenson Street, according to Metro Police.
A 2019 Ford Transit Van was turning left on Flamingo on a green turn arrow about 6:20 p.m. when it hit the Las Vegas woman, police said. She was on a crosswalk, but crossing against a “don’t walk” signal, police said.
The woman died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.
The 51-year-old motorist, who wasn’t impaired, “stopped immediately” and remained at the scene until medics arrived, police said.
