Officers shot and killed a machete-wielding man who lunged at them early today near Bruce Street and Tonopah Avenue, according to North Las Vegas Police.
Officers responded to the area after people reported a man walking in the streets with a gun, police said.About 2 a.m., as the officers were questioning a person, they saw a man who fit the description of the armed man, police said.
They approached him, and gave him verbal commands, police said. At some point, the man lunged at them with the machete in a striking stance, police said.
That’s when four officers opened , police said. The man died at University Medical Center.
No additional details were released.
