Person critically injured in midday shooting

A person was in critical condition following a shooting today near Tropicana Avenue and Maryland Parkway, according to Metro Police.

The shooting was reported about 12:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of East Tropicana, police said.

The victim was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

No arrests had been made and police did not provide a suspect description.
