Driver accused of DUI in fatal east valley motorcycle crash

The Nevada Highway Patrol blamed an impaired motorist in a fatal motorcycle crash Thursday night on an east Las Vegas roadway.

Luis Osorio, 27, was jailed on counts of DUI resulting in death and unsafe or prohibited U-turn, Clark County Detention Center records show.

A Las Vegas Justice Court judge on Friday morning granted Osorio’s release on high electronic monitoring, on the condition that he stay out of trouble, not drive, or consume drugs or alcohol, court logs show.

It wasn’t clear if he’d posted the $150,000 bail as of Friday night.

Meanwhile, the patrol identified the Harley-Davidson rider who died as Kevin Maloney, 62.

The crash was reported at 7:36 p.m. on Lake Mead Boulevard and Los Feliz Street.

The patrol said Osorio turned his Nissan Altima into Maloney’s path.
