Fans of Vickie’s Diner will soon have their beloved eatery back, albeit in a new spot.

Vickie Kelesis, owner of the popular diner near the Strat that closed in August, said Friday that she has signed a long-term lease at a new location.

Kelesis said she hopes Vickie’s is open by the first of the year inside a former dentist office space at the Commercial Center complex near East Sahara Avenue and Maryland Parkway.

“There’s some demolition and construction that needs to happen, but the lease is signed and we’re excited,” Kelesis said. “It’s a good location. It’s going to be bigger than our old place, but otherwise will be exactly the same.”

The throwback diner — formerly known as Tiffany’s Cafe — used to be at 1700 Las Vegas Boulevard South in the White Cross Drugs strip mall.

The restaurant opened in the 1950s and for years served comfort food to locals and tourists alike in Las Vegas.

Kelesis, whose uncle Pete Kelesis ran Tiffany’s for many years, used to waitress at the old café. She bought the business in 2014.

“A lot of people have contacted me about our new space,” Kelesis said. “I know people will be excited, and we’re going to be ready to welcome them back.”

Kelesis said the new diner could be open as early as December, though January is a more likely target.
