A local casino operator has joined other Las Vegas companies offering on-site coronavirus vaccine shots to hospitality workers.
Station Casinos vaccination clinics begin next Tuesday at six of its properties in Las Vegas and suburban Henderson, company spokesman Alex Acuna said Thursday.
The company arranged with paramedic and ambulance provider American Medical Response to administer COVID-19 vaccines by appointments for workers and family members.
The two biggest Las Vegas casino companies, MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment, and Wynn Resorts also are inoculating employees at vaccination clinics set up on their properties.
Inoculation drives have expanded in tiers since mid-December statewide, amid limited vaccine supplies.
Supplies have increased and Gov. Steve Sisolak has directed that everyone age 16 and older will be eligible for shots beginning Monday.
More than 18% of the Nevada population is fully vaccinated, the state Department of Health and Human Services said Thursday, including nearly 334,000 people in the Las Vegas area. Almost one in three people statewide has begun the vaccination process.
State biostatistician Kyra Morgan told COVID-19 Response Task Force members the 273 people hospitalized with the coronavirus was the lowest since the Nevada Hospital Association began reporting that number.
Officials on Thursday reported 350 additional cases statewide, topping 304,000 since March 2020, and seven new deaths, bringing that number to 5,256.
