Police investigating fatal shooting in downtown Las Vegas

A fight between two men early this morning at the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas escalated into a shooting that left one of them dead, according to Metro Police.

The shooting was reported about 3:40 a.m. on Fremont and Third streets, Lt. Ray Spencer said.

The two men were in a physical confrontation in the intersection when one of them pulled out a gun and shot the victim, Spencer said.

The wounded man was able to run about 1.5 miles before he collapsed on the ground, Spencer said.

He died at University Medical Center, while the suspect, described by Spencer as a Black man in his early 30s, was seen leaving on foot.

Investigators were canvassing the area for videos.
