Metro investigating fatal hotel stabbing west of the Strip

A man was fatally stabbed after an altercation in a hotel room just west of the Las Vegas Strip, according to Metro Police.

Officers responded at 12:17 a.m. Friday to the 3700 block of W. Flamingo Road to reports of a stabbing, police said in a release. Police on scene located a man suffering from stab wounds. The victim was transported to University Medical Center where they later died.

An investigation by homicide detectives indicates the suspect and victim were in an altercation in the room just before the stabbing, police said. Detectives believe the incident is “narcotics related” and that the suspect was known to the victim.

The matter remains under investigation, police said. No other information was released. The identification of the victim will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
