A teen was killed and another suffered life-threatening injuries in a shooting Tuesday night at an east Las Vegas apartment complex, according to Metro Police.
The female victim, who was in her late teens, died at the scene, while the male, about the same age, was hospitalized at University Medical Center in critical condition, Lt. Ray Spencer said.
The shooting was reported about 9 p.m. in the 7500 block of Lake Mead Boulevard, near Hollywood Boulevard.
An argument broke out among a group of people outside an upstairs apartment, and the resident pulled out a gun, Spencer said.
Several shots were fired, hitting and killing the female victim and striking the male multiple times, Spencer said.
Police were trying to determine if there was more than one shooter involved, Spencer said.
The resident of the apartment was cooperating with detectives and was not arrested, Spencer said.
After the shooting, two males, including the wounded victim, hopped in a car and drove to North Vista Hospital in North Las Vegas, Spencer said. The victim was later transported to UMC, he said.
