Impressionist, singer and entertainer Gordie Brown performs at Golden Nugget.

Stalwart Vegas singer, impressionist and comedian Gordie Brown is back at the Golden Nugget. His new show “Lasting Impressions” opens on March 25 in the downtown hotel’s iconic showroom and will play at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at 5 and 8 p.m. Saturday. Brown has worked on and off at the Golden Nugget since first relocating to Las Vegas in 2004 and has also performed in different rooms at the Venetian and Planet Hollywood resorts on the Strip. “I’m both honored and thrilled to be back onstage to perform my one-man show at the Golden Nugget,” he said in a statement. “Performing in front of a live audience has always brought me my highest joy in life. I’m proud to be part of the team that helps bring some sort of normalcy back to the Las Vegas entertainment scene.”

If you missed this one, I’m sorry I didn’t write about it sooner: Clint Holmes' first proper live show since the beginning of the COVID era is set for Saturday at Notoriety Live, but it’s sold out. Featuring pianist Tom Schuman of New York jazz fusion greats Spyro Gyra, “Back to the Music” is billed as part of Holmes’ “Regeneration Series,” so expect more chances to see the Grammy-nominated vocalist at this blossoming downtown venue. After all, its operator is Ken Henderson, whose Best Agency represents Holmes and the two longtime Las Vegans have collaborated for other shows on and off the Strip in the past.

Live music is back this weekend at 1923 Prohibition Bar at the Shoppes at Mandalay Bay and sultry singer Nieve Malandra is first up with a New Orleans jazz-themed performance Saturday night at 9 p.m.

Also on tap this weekend: Singer Savannah Lynx of Rose. Rabbit. Lie. at the Cosmopolitan takes to the stage at the Vegas Room Saturday night, where multi-talented musician Chris Lash performs for the Sunday brunch show; and as discussed in this week’s Sun on the Strip podcast, “The Cocktail Cabaret” will be performed twice on Sunday at the Italian American Club.

Erin Baltsar, one of the stars of “Friends! The Musical Parody” at Paris Las Vegas, will be singing the National Anthem Saturday at the Pennzoil 400 NASCAR race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. “Friends” is one of the Strip shows that remains on pause during this phase of pandemic restrictions but it's expected to return to performances in the coming months.

On Monday, the Hard Rock Café on the Las Vegas Strip is celebrating International Women’s Day with a special livestream event hosted by KKLZ-FM personality Carla Rea featuring performances from local singers Betsy Holm, Brooke Allyson, Kat Marosok and Paige Overton and poet Jamilia Wimberly. Viewers will be encouraged to donate to the Cupcake Girls, a local nonprofit group supporting individuals affected by domestic violence and sex trafficking and those working in the sex industry. A limited number of in-person reservations are available by calling 702-733-7625 and the event will be broadcast online on the café’s Facebook page. You can also re-watch it and donate at hardrockcafe.com.

Special guest star ventriloquist April Brucker’s run in the new “BurlesQ” all-female variety show at the Alexis Park Resort has been extended after 10 weeks of sold-out performances. Brucker performed for more than ten years in New York City cabarets and comedy clubs as well as in off-Broadway productions such as the well-known “Murdered by the Mob” dinner theater show. “BurlesQ” hits the stage at the Athena Showroom at 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
