Passenger traffic at McCarran International Airport remained mostly unchanged in February from the previous month, with about 1.6 million travelers arriving and departing.

In January, about 1.5 million people passed through the Las Vegas airport, according to the Clark County Department of Aviation.

In February 2020, just before the coronavirus pandemic led to the temporary shutdown of casinos, nearly 3.9 million passengers passed through the airport.

During the first two months of this year, McCarran has recorded 3.1 million passengers, down 61% from the same period a year ago, airport officials said.

International travel to Las Vegas remained mostly at a standstill in February. Only about 8,000 international travelers passed through the airport last month, down 97% from February 2020.

Just under 1.2 million people passed through airport security checkpoints in the U.S. on Wednesday, roughly half of the number tallied the same day in 2019, according to the Transportation Security Administration.
