Motorcyclist dies in crash near Strip

A motorcyclist died Friday night after a crash near the Las Vegas Strip, Metro Police said today.

The driver, who was only identified as a 48-year-old Las Vegas man, was traveling south on Frank Sinatra Drive near Tropicana Avenue when a sedan going north on Frank Sinatra failed to stay in its lane and crossed into oncoming traffic.

The sedan’s right side then struck the front of a black Yamaha XV 1900CT motorcycle at 11:29 p.m., Metro said in a news release.

The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the sedan was transported to University Medical Center Trauma by ambulance for medical treatment, according to the release. The driver of the sedan did not display signs of impairment, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
