Metro: Teen pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash in southwest Vegas

Metro Police are looking for a suspect after an alleged hit-and-run crash left a 15-year-old boy dead late Friday on the city’s southwest side.

Officers say at 7:46 p.m. a red Dodge Charger struck the child at the intersection of South Durango Drive and West Robindale Road.

Evidence at the scene and video of the collision indicates the Charger was traveling north on Durango when two minors crossed at Durango against the pedestrian signal, police said.

The crash happened when the 15-year-old entered the Dodge’s path and was struck by the vehicle, police said.

The teen was projected forward onto the ground, and the Dodge failed to remain at the scene, police said. The vehicle was last seen traveling north on Durango.

The teen was transported to University Medical Center Trauma where he was pronounced dead.

Vehicle parts left at the scene indicate it could have been a red 2011-17 Dodge Charger, police said.

The vehicle is missing its left side view mirror and may have damage to its left front and windshield, police said.
