Toby Sayphone ran for 62 yards and four touchdowns for Rancho in a 35-0 win at Cheyenne on Friday night.

The Rams are off to a 2-0 start and are one win from tying last season's win total. It's the first time Rancho has won its first two games of the season since 2007 when it started 4-0.

"Our school hasn't been 2-0 in a long time," said Rancho coach Leon Evans. "We're going to try to keep on building success throughout the program."

Senior quarterback Vince Marcione had 64 rushing yards on two carries, and Abdul Adeleke returned a fumble for a touchdown.

Rancho opened its season with a 59-6 win over Pinecrest Academy last week.

"Our defense is playing lights out right now," said Evans, crediting defensive coordinator Jerome Weber for getting that side of the ball ready to start the year. "We're going to rely on our defense, put up a little bit of points with our offense and try to get it done this season."

Cheyenne (0-1), coming off a two-win season in 2021, lost its fourth straight dating back to last season.

The Rams continue a three-game road set next week with Durango, followed by Pahrump Valley.
