Metro: Suspect killed by officer while threatening victim in Las Vegas

A suspect was killed Friday morning in an officer-involved shooting on the east side of Las Vegas that was the culmination of a car chase by Metro Police, officials say.

Officers responded about 11 a.m. to a road rage incident near the intersection of Nellis Boulevard and Bonanza Road, during which the suspect had pointed a firearm at a victim, police said.

When officers located and attempted to conduct a vehicle stop on the suspect, the suspect refused to stop and fled the area. Officers pursued the suspect to an area near Colusa Circle and Sacramento Drive, at which point they discharged their firearms and struck the suspect.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The incident was Metro’s 13th officer-involved shooting this year.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
