Kane Brown is back in Las Vegas this weekend.

The major league sports takeover of Las Vegas reaches a new pinnacle this weekend when the NHL All-Star Game and the NFL Pro Bowl will be held in consecutive days at Vegas venues just a few minutes away from each other. But that doesn’t mean there’s a lack of non-sports live entertainment coming your way. Check out the superstars and old-school favorites hitting the city this weekend.

THE NEXT MOVEMENT Formed in 1971 on Chicago’s south side, The Next Movement followed in the footsteps of The Temptations, The Dells and The Chi-Lites with soulful harmonies and ultra-smooth moves. The group performed in Las Vegas in the 1970s opening for acts such as Redd Foxx, and now it starts a new monthly residency at the Nevada Room supper club just east of the Strip, still featuring original members Cornell Haywood, Earl Shelby and Samuel Thomas Jr. February 4-5, vegasnevadarooms.com.

GARTH BROOKS After having to postpone portions of his stadium tour shortly after his historic performance at Allegiant Stadium last summer, Brooks is back on the road again and will celebrate his 60th birthday early — it’s actually on February 7 — with a pair of stripped-down concerts at Park MGM’s recently renovated Dolby Live theater this weekend. KOOL & THE GANG The soul and the funk you need this weekend are ready and waiting at the Westgate International Theater. Kool & The Gang claims to have performed continuously longer than any R&B group in history and they are back in town and ready to celebrate good times. February 4-5, westgateresorts.com.

NEVADA BALLET THEATRE: TWO WORLD PREMIERES The local dance institution continues to mark its landmark 50th season, this time with original pieces created by acclaimed choreographers Lauren Lovette and Trey McIntyre, plus selections from Krista Baker. There are two performances set for Saturday at the Smith Center’s Reynolds Hall. February 5, nevadaballet.org.

LOVE AFFAIR CONCERT Romantic R&B acts Zapp, Midnight Star, Rose Royce, Heatwave, the Manhattans and more land at the Orleans Arena for this annual concert event from radio station Jammin’ 105.7 FM. February 5, orleansarena.com.

KANE BROWN After the NHL is done taking over T-Mobile Arena this weekend, country hitmaker Kane Brown brings his rescheduled Blessed & Free Tour stop to the Strip, featuring special guests Chase Rice and Restless Road. February 6, t-mobilearena.com.
