UNLV's drive-thru COVID-19 testing and vaccination site at 851 E. Tropicana Ave. is moving to Sam Boyd Stadium starting Sunday to accommodate more people.

The clinic's last day at the current Paradise Campus site will be Wednesday.

The site at Sam Boyd, 7000 E. Russell Road, will be open from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays. Appointments are not available but registration is encouraged to get results by phone or email. To register, click here.

The site will be able to administer up to 300 vaccinations and conduct about 1,200 tests a night, depending on staffing and supplies, officials said.

The Pfizer vaccine will be available for those age 12 and older, and the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines for those 18 and older.

Parents with younger children seeking vaccinations can find information on Southern Nevada Health District's website.

UNLV is moving to the larger site as demand for testing has risen dramatically.

On Sunday, so many people showed up to get COVID tests that the Paradise Campus site had to shut down early after reaching capacity.

The confluence of the winter holidays and the emergence of the omicron variant of the coronavirus has led to a surge of cases.

The Southern Nevada Health District reported 1,936 new COVID-19 cases and 38 COVID-related deaths today in Clark County.

Clark County has had 379,454 cases and 6,499 COVID-related deaths since the pandemic started. Thirty-eight of those deaths were reported today.
