Raiders rookie cornerback Nate Hobbs was issued a reckless driving citation after driving in excess of 100 mph on the 215 Beltway near Decatur Boulevard, according to Nevada State Police.

A spokesperson for agency couldn't provide when Hobbs was cited or how fast he was driving. KLAS-TV said Hobbs was cited for speeds of 110 mph in a 65 mph zone.

It's the second traffic-related incident this month for Hobbs, who was arrested by Metro Police on Jan. 3 on a misdemeanor DUI count after he reportedly fell asleep in a vehicle parked on the exit ramp of a casino parking garage in the 3500 block of Las Vegas Boulevard South. Hobbs failed a field sobriety test before he was taken to the Clark County Detention Center, police said.

Hobbs’ attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, released a one-sentence statement questioning whether Hobbs’ Jan. 3 arrest qualified as drunken driving, and they declined additional comment.

Hobbs, a 22-year-old out of the University Illinois, was taken in the fifth round last April of the NFL Draft. He’s served as the team’s starting cornerback in all but two games, against the Browns — when he tested positive for COVID-19 — and the Broncos when he was still recovering from the virus.

Hobbs’ arrest is the latest off-field incident for the Raiders in a season filled with them, including the fatal Nov. 2 crash involving ex-wide receiver Henry Ruggs III that killed a 23-year-old Las Vegas woman. Ruggs is facing multiple charges, including DUI resulting in death or substantial bodily harm.

Another cornerback, Damon Arnette, was released from the team after brandishing weapons and voicing death threats in a social media video.
