Body found in Lake Mead where woman reported missing

A body has been recovered at Lake Mead in the area where a woman went missing Thursday, the National Park Service said today.

Park rangers and a Metro Police search and rescue unit located and recovered the body near the Boulder Islands with the use of a remotely operated vehicle, the Park Service said.

The body has not yet been identified, the Park Service said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will identify the person and and determine the cause of death, the Park Service said.

The woman and a male, who was not named, fell off a personal watercraft about 6:15 a.m. Thursday, the Park Service said.

The male was found, but the woman was not seen since going into the water, officials said. Neither person was wearing a life jacket, officials said.

No information was released about the male.

The Park Service on Friday identified the woman only as a Boulder City resident named Lily. The agency put out a description of her and asked the public for any information that could help further identify or locate her.
